The whole book in one line. The most disciplined person I have ever met was exhausted, and she was me. Make of that what you will. I made a book.
For years my numbers were excellent. Sleep logged, food logged, steps counted, a rating for the day before I went to bed. On paper I was in the best shape of my life.
I was also tired in a way that no amount of good data fixed, and slightly afraid of a rest day, which is a sentence I have decided to leave in the book.
Optimised is not the same as well. They can look identical from the outside, which is why so many of us keep choosing the one with a scoreboard.
If your week looks good on paper and heavy in your chest, believe your chest. It has better data. It knows whether you are tired, and it has been right about that every time.
Well looks worse on paper. Inconsistent. Unhurried. Occasionally horizontal at two in the afternoon. It also lasts longer, and you are not the only one who can tell the difference.
Do one thing badly today, unhurried and unmeasured. Then stop doing it.
